In 1980 the world renowned astrophysicist and educator Carl Sagan wrote a book called “Pale Blue Dot” that was inspired by this photograph. The phrase “Pale Blue Dot” became synonymous with the image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"838\" height=\"621\" src=\"https:\/\/thedoucette.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Earth-from-Saturn.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thedoucette.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Earth-from-Saturn.jpg 838w, https:\/\/thedoucette.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Earth-from-Saturn-300x222.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thedoucette.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Earth-from-Saturn-768x569.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 838px) 100vw, 838px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Since then other “Pale Blue Dot” images have been taken.
